Evening of Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra

Join us for a 75mins of Rest.

Beginning with Restore Yoga and finishing with a beautiful Yoga Nidra Meditation.

Restorative Yoga gently restores balance and calm. Finding Peaceful and Calm Yin Energy.

Restorative Yoga is a deeply nourishing, fully supported practice designed to calm the nervous system and guide the body into true rest. Unlike more active styles of yoga, this class uses bolsters, blankets, blocks and gentle props so you can completely soften into each posture without strain or effort.

In our busy, overstimulated world, many of us live in a constant state of “doing.” Restorative Yoga invites you into “being.” By supporting the body in comfortable, long-held poses, we gently shift from the sympathetic (fight-or-flight) response into the parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) state. This allows the nervous system to reset, muscles to release, and the mind to quiet.

At Nicole Nattrass Yoga & Pilates in Blackburn North, Restorative Yoga is a warm, welcoming space to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Improve sleep quality

  • Support hormonal balance and menopause transitions

  • Ease muscular tension and fatigue

  • Restore energy without depletion

  • Support recovery from busy schedules, strength training or life stress

There is no stretching goal, no flexibility requirement, and no performance element. You will be fully supported throughout the class — physically with props and emotionally with gentle guidance and space to breathe. I love to guide you through meditation while you are in each posture.

This practice is ideal if you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, recovering from illness, navigating menopause, or simply craving deep rest.

If your body feels tired but your mind won’t switch off, Restorative Yoga may be exactly what your nervous system is asking for.

Once a month on Wednesday evenings, we come together for a truly beautiful and nourishing Yoga Nidra practice.

This mindful mid-week offering invites you to slow down, rest deeply, and reset. Yoga Nidra is a powerful guided relaxation that allows the body and mind to fully unwind, leaving you feeling renewed, refreshed, and restored—making it the perfect way to break up the week.

  • A state of conscious relaxation, guiding you beyond ordinary rest into a blissful, healing state

  • The space between waking and sleeping, where the body receives the benefits of deep sleep while the mind remains gently aware
